I became passionate about women’s health a few years before having my own children. I have now more than 15 years of women’s health physiotherapy experience and have supported thousands of women on their journey to better health and well-being. To date I have instructed hundreds of exercise and education sessions and have enhanced my skillset by completing Fit-back and Bumps training as well as APPI (Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute) Mat-work 1 and 2. I had the honour of introducing Mayo Mums Bumps to Babies and other HSE women’s health initiatives to the Minister for Health in Castlebar’s modern Primary Care Centre in November 2017. I am excited to start a new “Mum and Me” exercise and wellness class in my local resource centre in the coming months to provide a place of exercise and community for post-natal Mums and their babies. I have been a key note speaker on topics women’s health related including the Saolta Midwifery Study Day in 2018 on the topic of Physiotherapy in Pregnancy. I have hosted Pregnancy Workshops in my local Balla Resource Centre as well as 3 years of Fitback and Bumps education and exercise programmes in Mayo for ante and post-natal women.
